Cat Keem
Born and raised in Honolulu, movement and art have been a part of Cat’s life from an early age. Her passion for dance began at the highly recognized dance program at Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts. While pursuing dance professionally in her college years, she experienced various injuries, such as a herniated disc, sciatica and joints instability due to hypermobility. This led her to prioritize her health.
After trying several different modalities to heal her body, from yoga to chiropractic therapy and more, she discovered Pilates while living in Los Angeles, and started to recover from her back injury. This newfound passion propelled her to share the wonderful method That Joe Pilates created with others who may also be suffering from their own injuries, imbalances, or simply want to move better.
In 2017, she began and completed her mat and comprehensive training at Pilates O Ka La under Chelsea Peck and Hilary Brown. Now she is continuing her education to this day with Sandy Shimoda and Karen Frischmann from Vintage Pilates.
Cat’s goal as an instructor is to empower her clients and help them understand their bodies better – so they may find strength, joy and balance in life. Warm-hearted and attentive to detail, clients of all ages continuously request Cat for her challenging workouts and her holistic approach to wellness. She believes that everyone, injured or not, can greatly benefit from Pilates to become more conscious and move better in our daily lives.
Cat teaches Pilates in Korean and English.
